Devices used to store personal information are both password protected and encrypted. The devices are owned solely by Renwick Beattie (proprietor of J Renwick Beattie Consulting), and your information will never be stored or accessed on any third party device. As a sole trader, only J Renwick Beattie will have access to your information, other than described above for fulfilment of services. Different passwords are always used for each device or application used.
Information Sharing and Disclosure
Information about my clients is important to J Renwick Beattie Consulting. Corporate information will be protected by non-disclosure agreements agreed between the parties involved. Your personal information is shared for very limited reasons and in limited circumstances, as follows:
Banking Services - we share may information with relevant banking services as agreed with the client for financial transactions necessary for the fulfilment of a service.
Service providers - we engage certain trusted third parties to perform functions and provide services, such as delivery companies. We will share your personal information with these third parties, but only to the extent necessary to perform these services.
Academic Services - contact details of clients with an established academic reputation may be shared with reputable scientific or academic institutions for such purposes of award nomination, recommendation for peer review activity or nomination to editorial board.
Compliance with laws - we may collect, use, retain, and share your information if we have a good faith and belief that it is reasonably necessary to: (a) respond to legal process or to government requests; (b) enforce our agreements, terms and policies; (c) prevent, investigate, and address fraud and other illegal activity, security, or technical issues; or (d) protect the rights, property, and safety of our customers, or others.
Data Retention
We retain your personal information only for as long as necessary to provide you with my services and as described in this Privacy Policy. However, we may also be required to retain this information to comply with our tax, legal and regulatory obligations, to resolve disputes, and to enforce my agreements. We generally keep your data for the following time period: 7 years.
Any data provided by the client in order to complete a contract project are deleted from our system in accordance with individual non disclosure agreements with clients
Your Rights
If you reside in certain territories, including the EU, you have a number of rights in relation to your personal information. While some of these rights apply generally, certain rights apply only in certain limited cases.

Access - You may have the right to access and receive a copy of the personal information I hold about you by contacting me using the contact information below.
Change, restrict, delete - You may also have rights to change, restrict my use of, or delete your personal information. Absent exceptional circumstances (like where I am required to store data for legal and tax reasons) I will generally delete your personal information upon request.
Object - You can object to (i) my processing of some of your information based on my legitimate interests and (ii) receiving marketing messages from me after providing your express consent to receive them. In such cases, I will delete your personal information unless I have compelling and legitimate grounds to continue using that information or if it is needed for legal reasons. Complain - If you reside in the EU and wish to raise a concern about my use of your information (and without prejudice to any other rights you may have), you have the right to do so with your local data protection authority.

I also perform the role of data processor but only for anonymised data provided by clients to fulfil the service required by them, I do not process any personally identifiable information.
